Writing Short Stories

Task: Create an electronic picture book using Storybird. Your story will have all of the elements of a narrative we have learned about.
Your story should:
  1. be between 6-12 pages long
  2. be appropriate for a younger audience (no swearing, gore etc.)
  3. have a connection between the illustrations and text
  4. be a short story that meets the success criteria.

Procedure:
  • You will log into previously created Storybird account.
  • Once there you can explore the different types of artwork the site has on display.
  • You can use what you find to inspire you for your story, or find illustrations that will suit an idea you already have.
  • You will need to create a title page and 6-12 pages of illustrated text
    • Each page does not have to be filled with words
    • Make sure that the words are organized on the pages so the words are related to the picture
    • Make sure each page contains a complete sentence
